1:1 Introduction To Sand Casting - ONLINE ZOOM workshop

This is a 3 hour 1:1 interactive session that will cover all the topics from the live group sessions on a day and time that suits YOU!  I am based in Australia my time zone is AEST please send an email to organise a time.

Are you struggling with sand casting or need a refresher? In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of sand casting and gain the knowledge to set up your own space and cast objects with confidence at home or in your own studio.

I will go through my home studio set up and show you the process I use to cast which has taken me years to perfect.

• Tools, setup and suppliers -you will be sent a PDF with the tools I will be using/recommend
• Comparing common sands on the market 
• Comparing flasks
• What can be sand cast
• Creating the mould and making sure it is set up correctly to get a successful cast
• Side pour vs top pour and when to do this
• Sprue placement
• Metal and how much to use
• What gemstones are suitable for casting in place
• Casting process
• Torches
• Safety

2: Casting gemstones in place

3: Casting a flat object/pendant

4: Creating settings/ casting settings

5: Troubleshooting

6: Finishing Techniques - uncovering stones, polishing etc
