Gold & Silver Recycling Project
The Gold & Silver Recycling Project
The Gold & Silver Recycling Project is my way of working with gold and silver as both a material and a form of payment.
When you bring me your old, unworn, or inherited jewellery, I don’t trade it in or apply a generic credit. I use your actual gold and silver to make your piece.
Any metal not needed for your jewellery is then returned to you — as is, cash, credit, or future value.
How It Works
-
You bring your gold and silver to me in the studio or via post
This can be broken jewellery, mismatched pieces, chains, rings, or inherited items.
-
We make your jewellery using your metal
Your gold and silver are refined and recast specifically for your piece.
-
Your metal can also acts as payment
The value of your gold and silver is calculated and applied toward the cost of your jewellery.
-
Anything left over is your choice
If there is remaining value after your piece is made, you can choose to:
- Take it as cash
- Use it as credit toward workshops
- Put it towards other jewellery on the website
- Hold it as credit for future work
- It can be returned
How Your Jewellery Is Made
Every piece created is made by me, in-house, using a traditional process called sand casting.
Sand casting allows me to work directly with your reclaimed gold and silver, rather than sending it away to be cast elsewhere. This means your metal stays in my hands from start to finish.
Using fine jewellers’ sand, I create a mould by pressing a model into the sand to form a cavity. Your gold or silver is then melted and poured into this mould, taking on its new shape. Once cooled, the piece is cleaned, refined, and finished by hand.
This process gives each piece its own subtle character and texture — no two castings are ever exactly the same.

Why Sand Casting Matters
-
Your gold is physically used in your piece
-
Nothing is outsourced or substituted
-
The process is fully transparent
-
Each piece is individually carved from wax then cast, not mass-produced
-
The material’s history is respected, not erased
By casting everything in-house, I can honour both the material and the story behind it — ensuring your jewellery is genuinely reclaimed, not just replaced.
.
Why This Is Different
Most jewellers:
- Send your jewellery away
- Melt it down in bulk
- Offer store credit toward something new without using the actual metal provided
I don’t do that.
With The Reclaimed Gold Project:
- Your gold is physically used in your piece
- Its value is clearly accounted for
- Any excess belongs to you, not the system
- Nothing is hidden
Your jewellery is made from your gold — and paid for with your gold.
A Real Example
A recent client brought me a collection of old gold jewellery.
We used her gold to create a new piece, and once it was complete, the remaining gold was valued and the cost of the remodel was paid for and the rest paid back to her in cash.
One collection of gold.
Three outcomes:
- A new piece of jewellery
- Payment toward the work
- Cash returned to the client

Why Reclaim Your Gold & Silver This Way?
- You’re not buying new metal unnecessarily
- You’re keeping the material and its story intact
- You have full control over any remaining value
- Nothing goes to waste
It’s practical, sustainable, and honest.
Why Solid Gold and Silver Jewellery Is Worth Investing In
Solid gold jewellery isn’t just something to wear — it’s something you own.
Unlike plated or gold-coated pieces, solid gold holds intrinsic value. It can be worn daily, repaired, resized, reclaimed, and remade over time. As the price of gold continues to rise, solid gold jewellery retains value in a way that fashion jewellery simply can’t.
When you invest in solid gold:
- Your jewellery always has material worth
- It can be remodelled rather than replaced
- It can be used as future credit or payment
- It never becomes waste
Through The Reclaimed Gold Project, your jewellery isn’t locked into one form forever — it remains flexible, valuable, and usable long into the future.
Reclaimed, Not Replaced
The Reclaimed Gold Project is about using what already exists — thoughtfully and transparently.
Your gold doesn’t disappear.
It becomes something new — and continues to work for you.

"For a while I have been wanting to turn my Grandads ashes into something really meaningful.A few months back I finally found the right person to that, I fell in love with Nadine’s work at the Renegade Markets & knew instantly she was the right person for the job, when I saw her beautifully hand crafted jewellery. I saw her shoreline collection, which represented the ocean and sand. This was fitting for me because my Grandad took me to the beach every summer holiday when I was a child. I had some old jewellery & the gemstone (& of course Grandads ashes) I wanted to use. Nadine has brought my vision to life. I now have a bit of him everywhere I go, in this ring - imprinted, the way he imprinted me & my life.Nadine I am so thankful I met you and what you have created for me is truly more than I could ever imagine.
